Summary: This classic bay window was designed as a performance and style upgrade to an aging window with little beauty and worsening performance issues.
The client’s primary concern was for an increase in window performance. The aging window that had been in the opening did not function and was a constant source of winter-time drafts throughout the living room area. Hawkeye Windows presented how function, performance and elegance could be blended for a showpiece window the client could brag about for years.
The window product selection was the Rehau Synego high-performance window system utilizing triple glass and non-thermal glass spacers. We then created a fully insulated custom box bay with 28” projection for a grand seating area and an allure of openness to the living room area. We enhanced the installation with a strong focus on performance and structural support to carry a window that weighed over 600 lbs. The window was finalized with a classic interior trim package where the crown molding doubled as a valance for future drapes.
