Summary: As one of our more memorable projects, the California French provincial is a true showcase masterpiece. Hawkeye Windows and Doors was commissioned to supply historically accurate German windows and doors in solid Oak for this sophisticated and luxurious residence. The meticulous detail reflected in the craftsmanship is only surpassed by the intricacy involved in creating this magnificent villa located in Southern California. Not only were the windows custom sized and apportioned with a diversity of custom options, the wood profiles and mullions themselves were custom designed with superior accuracy for yielding an exquisite effect that mirrored the chateaus and villas found throughout France.
Some of the more intricate details of the German windows in this prestigious residence included specialty window pockets for third party art glass, double-satin frosted privacy glass for the more intimate areas of the home, detailed carved door panels in the patio doors, a selection of wood finishing colors throughout and a unique four piece window combination that masterfully formed the image and balance of a Christian cross.
Although we were absolutely equipped and skilled to undertake such a task, we had to accomplish this stunning effect while remaining within the California Title 24 building standard codes; which are known to be some of the most stringent in the nation. All of the double glass windows and doors on this project met the California requirements; and some of the products were ordered with triple glass to reduce sound levels in the more private areas of the home.
