Summary: This net-zero target A-framed home is built on a slight hill with its large glass façade overlooking a private lake and a vast area of timbered countryside.
Hawkeye Windows & Doors was tasked with proposing a beautiful glass façade design for each end of this A-Framed property and to augment the proposal with cutting edge insulated glass. We therefore recommended a wood-clad curtain wall with its two inch wide oak post to maintain the greatest amount of viewable glass area and to seamlessly blend into the overall design concept. We also proposed glazing the system with a 48mm triple glass system utilizing a Guardian dual low-e combination separated by two Swissspacer® thermal spacers for an overall average Uw-value of 0.11 BTU/hoF ft2.
